2012 Team Beachbody Coach Summit Recap

2012 Beachbody Coach Summit Recap

This year, the 2012 Beachbody Coach Summit was held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada and it was a BLAST!

It’s a time to get together with teammates and friends, workout out in person with guys like Tony Horton and Shaun T, learn all about the products and programs on the horizon for the company, lots of workshops, special events and celebrations, and a P90X lover’s mega sopping mall!  The only requirement to attend is…you have to be an Official Team Beachbody Coach or the guest of one.

Although I only spent 3 days there, I had an unbelievable time and CAN’T WAIT for next year!

THE CORE

After arriving, the first place I went was the HUGE place called The CORE.  The CORE is a 100,000 square foot interactive shopping mall that comes equipped with it’s own Shakeology Bar.

There were areas with product presentations, contests, equipment to test, a ton of stuff from the new clothing line.  Crazy, huh?  For someone like me…this was literally Disney World!  Click below for a look inside…

A Look Inside THE CORE

Yeah, I probably spent way too much money in there lol…but the CORE was incredible and brought an awesome experience to this year’s Summit.  The Shakeology bar was awesome too.  The only thing better than making your favorite Shakeology recipes is having someone else make them for you…they were all great and we even got to try the Chocolate Vegan, which hadn’t even been released yet!  It was quite the experience!

THE PEOPLE

The people is what REALLY makes Summit in my opinion.  Many of these guys and gals are people that I have only known through email, telephone and facebook so it was awesome to get meet some of them in person.  Not only my own team, but there were actually around 5000 other Coaches there this week who are some of the nicest, most caring, and giving people that I have ever been around.

With my coach – Jonathan Register at Rainforest Cafe

They all have such a passion for what they do.  I made a ton of new friends and heard so many personal success stories where people had totally turned their lives around because of this company and it’s programs.  Everyone has a story and honestly, you just can’t ever hear enough of them.

I also got to meet and greet with Tony Horton and Shaun T which is always really cool!  When these guys are on your TV screen for 4 years or so or however long it’s been now, it’s like being around a family member when you bump into them.

Have you ever wondered what they are like in real life?  Honestly, they are just exactly like they are on TV.  They are exactly the same.  They are really cool, very personable, and seem to really genuinely care to get to know you …It was awesome to be able to talk to them and even share my story with them about what these programs have done for me in my fitness journey…very, very cool!

THE WORKOUTS

With Terrell From Asylum 2 in between Summit Sessions

In 3 days, we all worked out a couple times including the Super Workout.  The first workout I did was the Tony Horton Live Workout.  We did a lot of P90X2 stuff, lot’s of core work, and some plyo and it was much tougher than I originally imagined.

For some reason, I had it in my head that we would just sort of go through the motions out there and do a couple moves and call it good.  Nope, not today..we went for over an hour with really no breaks and it was actually pretty tough.  Not that I don’t give a huge effort while working out at home, but it really takes on a whole new level with Tony Horton walking through the crowd and standing right there in front of you and just watching you do all these moves in person!!

I got a fist pump hand shake from Tony during the cool down – I interpreted that as a “good job dude” so I kind of went with that and was pretty pumped about it…yeah I know! ;)

With Ted Duncan after the Shaun T workout!

The second was the Sean T live workout.  This one started at 6:00am and to be honest, I was a little sore from the night before so, knowing Shaun T, I was concerned lol.  This workout was incredible.  He came out and immediately we GOT TO WORK.  We did some stuff from Insanity, from Asylum, and he even introduced some new moves from the Asylum 2.  This workout was VERY intense, but a blast.

There were many other workouts available to do.  There was other workouts that day with Tony Horton, Les Mills Pump Crew, Leandro, and Chalene…but I was DONE for the day after that Shaun T workout…whew!

The last workout that I did before returning home was the Super Workout on the Vegas Strip.  This workout is outdoors and involves all the coaches in attendance at Summit.  This is a HUGE event.

Also, every trainer comes out for about 20 minutes and does their thing and you just keep going through them all until you’re done.  It is about an hour and half workout but feels like 20 minutes because of how fun it is.

5000 at the Super Workout!

First was Tai Cheng and I loved it.  It was the first time I have ever done Tai Chi before and it was pretty cool really.  The Les Mills Pump peeps came out in all Combat gear and did about 20 minutes of Combat with us and that was great as well.  The Beast himself, Sagi Kalev from Beachbody’s just released program, Body Beast, came out and made us do 100 consecutive push ups with minimal rest for those that could do it.  Not that exciting, but it hurt none the less….Shaun T then comes out and drops 20 minutes of Asylum Volume 2 on us.  Asylum is hard enough, but doing it in 90 degree weather and on concrete is Insane! And then finally, Tony and the P90X2 crew w/ Mark Briggs came out and introduced a new workout yet to be released call MMX.  It’s a mixed martial arts workout and was mostly developed by Mark Briggs himself and it is killer. We just did 3 of 4 of the more basic stuff, but Mark demonstrated one of the more advanced moves in this new workout and it was crazy!  It’s going to be a whole lot of fun.

THE NEW PROGRAMS/PRODUCTS

Body Beast Preview

We were introduced to several new things coming out.  Of course, as I mentioned earlier – Body Beast.  Also, the Asylum Volume 2 will be available some time after the summer.  Chocolate VEGAN Shakeology is available and everyone got to taste it and it’s really good.  Personally, I even think I will make the switch over to the Vegan on my next shipment…I was really that impressed!  We also learned about a new informercial that is getting to be released for the Asylum starring and endorsed by Olympic Speed Skater Apolo Ohno.  It is going to be incredible!  There were many other things that were announced that we are supposed to sort of keep hush hush for a while, but trust me…it’s going to be BIG! The sky is the limit for this company and as long as they continue to develop great products and programs to help all of us live healthy and more fulfilling lives then  everyone wins.

THE EXPERIENCE

Tony Horton speaking to our team about “Integrity” within the business.

The experience was incredible.  The energy, the new programs and products coming out are HUGE, and there is just this sense from everyone that we are going to do something big when it comes to helping this country get healthy and fit and that’s what is all about…helping others.  Most of us, if not all of us came from a place where someone reached out to us through these products and we are simply trying to pay it forward.

I can’t explain how awesome it was to hear story after story, to see the passion that everyone has for these programs, and to be part of a community that really believes we can change the world when it comes to people’s health!

I will definitely make this trip again next year and hopefully will be bringing my wife and some of my other team members with me!  If you are a new coach or contemplating on becoming a coach…Summit is a game changer! Don’t miss it next year!
